Waterbeach boasts a 23 acre lake and biodiversity net gain targets across five habitat areas, with hero species including kingfishers and nationally scarce pondskaters. A sustainable travel hub, play spaces, extensive walking and cycling routes, school and pre-school, local centre with shops and café, pop-up space for events and activities by the lake, and new energy efficient homes all form part of the first phase of development.
Strategy
We collaborated with key stakeholders and Urban&Civic’s Communities and Partnerships team, beginning with persona development, social media strategy and digital strategy. Our focus is on aligning the digital strategy and digital marketing activities with an accessible and sustainable approach to content and channels. All centred around key themes including heritage, education, biodiversity net gain, health and wellbeing, travel and new homes.
Outcome
As the infrastructure takes shape we are supporting with content, organic and paid social and digital experiences, designed to attract new audiences to Waterbeach. Alongside supporting the community in making active and sustainable lifestyle choices. From awareness and participation in caring for the nature on their doorstep, to making informed choices about how they move around to increase health and wellbeing, and reduce carbon.
