Challenge
To create a digital and social presence that doesn’t just announce the vision, but lives it, elevating accessible content, sustainable behaviours, and meaningful engagement.
Waterbeach is shaping a new kind of community just north of Cambridge – nestled between fenland views, a 23‑acre lake, cycle-first streets, energy-efficient homes, a monthly market, and a sustainable travel hub.
Strategy
We shaped the website and social media to reflect Waterbeach values with a strategy that is people-first, nature-led, and action-oriented. Content is designed to inspire engagement, from early phase consultation responses to registering interest in a new home.
We’re continuing to develop messaging hierarchy, and user experience as the development moves through the first phase – from Life by the Lake to the ecology section highlighting habitats and hero species, ensuring the website and social media are as accessible and inspiring as the place itself.
During the early consultation phases, we supported active dialogue – managing comments, answering questions, and helping to shift negative perceptions of the development. By striking a balance between transparency and trust, we kept the brand narrative open, responsive and grounded in community concerns.
We manage both organic and paid campaigns – blending local stories with targeted moments. Reels, resident highlights, and nature-led content have driven strong engagement while staying rooted in Waterbeach’s ethos.
Results
Social Media Reach & Engagement:
- Instagram reach: +524% MoM (Aug 2024: 33k reach, 70k+ impressions)
- Facebook: 38k reach, 95k impressions
- Paid content: Click Through Rates from 900-1000 website visits at £0.20-£0.25 per visit
Boosted posts on Instagram achieved significant reach:
- 16,727 accounts and generated 451 website visits at a cost per visit of £0.31.
- 10,893 accounts with 399 website visits at £0.35 per visit.
- 19,368 accounts generating 707 website visits at a cost of £0.20 per visit.
